Hi! I’m Camilla.
I created Positive Pets out of a fascination of all things dog.
I have spent many years studying canine behaviour and working with dogs so that I can support you to get the most out of your relationship with your dog.
I am a fully qualified and accredited, award-winning trainer and behaviourist. You can find out more here.
As well as the academic side, I also live with many rescue dogs including ranging from Wolfdogs to Chihuahuas! Some are fostered and rehabilitated, others stay. By living and breathing dog behaviour 24 hours a day I have done the trial and error for you and can give you real life, effective, long lasting solutions.
As a canine behaviourist I deal with a wide range of canine behavioural problems in all dog breeds, from puppies through to adult dogs.
Dogs can become anxious, frightened or frustrated resulting in behaviours such as aggression towards people or other animals, chasing traffic, panicking when left alone or becoming reactive to noises.
These types of problem behaviours aren’t able to be resolved simply through training because as well as learning to behave in a different way, the dog also needs to learn to feel differently about things.
Through science based methods such as desensitisation and counterconditioning we can change how your dog feels and responds to the world around them.
We can’t stop one behaviour without replacing it with another so I will help you to teach your dog an alternative, more positive way of behaving instead.
As a dog trainer, I will help you to improve your own training skills & handle your dog with confidence.
Together, we can teach your dog daily life skills such as walking calmly on the lead, greeting people and dogs politely and settling down quietly when you need them to.
We will also make sure they have good obedience skills. Manners create inclusion.
By taking a holistic approach and working with your dog’s natural skills & abilities we can help them to be the best version of themselves.
Camilla has been working with our young Cocker spaniel on a variety of training and behavioural issues. He clearly adores her and has made great progress under her expertise. She has taught us a lot. Would highly recommend.
I called Camilla because I just got a new pup and i was so overwhelmed and I didn’t know if I was doing the right thing. Camilla reassured me and put me at ease. She has helped me with so much. My pup and I are doing so well and we are well on our way!
"Kind & Caring"
Camilla is very knowledgeable and friendly. She helped us to understand why our dog was exhibiting different behaviours and gave us a variety of exercises to work on with her to improve our situation.
